The Goddess of Fortune, Fate and Luck. I wanted this piece to have references within the materials of the design itself. The dress is a mint green moiré to represent the aspect of money and wealth as new establishing cities and towns would worship her with the hope of good luck and prosperous wealth within the city. The gold and crystal crown symbolizes not only abundance of wealth but also to reflect on fate and what comes into our lives. She was such an important Goddess for me to make sure that I paid tribute to as she had shown inspiration and presence in mine and my family’s world many times, even inspiring projects in my brother’s projects.
Tyche’s Dress was one that I knew exactly what I wanted it to look like from the beginning. I have dreamed of working with Moire fabric for years and I knew the moment I started designing this dress that this was the piece I use it for. The beautiful Mint green color flowed so well and complimented the visual texture that moire brings.
